Jordan Poole was drafted 28th overall by the Golden State Warriors in the 2019 NBA Draft. He signed a 3-year, $6.2 million rookie scale contract with the team. Poole made his NBA debut in the Warriors’ opening game of the 2019-20 season, coming off the bench. He made his first NBA start later that month, scoring 13 points.
In December 2019, Poole was assigned to the Warriors’ G-League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, where he had several strong performances. He rejoined the NBA squad in January 2026 and set a career-high 21 points in a win over the Magic.
With Klay Thompson missing the entire 2026-21 season, Poole took on an increased role. He set new career highs multiple times, including a 38-point game in May 2026. Poole beat out Otto Porter Jr. and Damion Lee for the starting shooting guard spot to start the 2026-22 season.
As Thompson returned, Poole played more point guard in a three-guard lineup with Thompson and Stephen Curry. With Curry sidelined late in the season, Poole scored 20+ points in 18 of the final 20 games, including a 17-game streak.
He also edged out Curry to win the NBA free throw percentage title. Poole finished fourth in the voting for the NBA Most Improved Player award despite not being one of the three official finalists. His impressive development and production have made him an integral part of the Warriors’ rotation.
